New Zealand bred Tactic King broke down badly at the 1400m mark at Sha Tin and was eased out of the race by his jockey. He was transported away, and later euthanased, 18th of May 2008.

I woke this morning to some great news (takeovers win) followed shortly by some very sad news....
In a sad aftermath to brilliant Australian sprinter Takeover Targets win, former aussie galloper Absolute Champion broke down last night in the Gr1 KrisFlyer, fracturing his off fore fetlock shortly after the start. He raced in Australia in the stables of Warwick Farm trainer Steve Englebrecht as a two-year-old under the name of Genius And Evil before being sold to Hong Kong, where he has taken on the world.
He will be sadly missed.

New Zealand bred gelding Yes OK broke down at the 500m mark, and was eased out of the race. He suffered a fractured near fore fetlock and was euthanased, 17th of May 2008.

Champion Macau sprinter and Hong Kong Group 1 winner, former Australian racehorse Natural Blitz reportedly broke down right on the post at Sha Tin, 12th of May 2008. His staus is currently unknown.
Please drop me a line if you can shed any light on this champion gallopers status.

Update 24/11/2008 - Unbelievebly, it has taken 6 months to discover that Natural Blitz did indeed fracture his leg and was put down back in May when he broke down. Thanks to Kate and Rebecca for helping to track down this information which certainly hasn't been easy to get.
